New, Sealed, Presumed Mint. Outer plastic has some shelf wear. 44 years old and never opened!
Offered for sale is a still sealed copy of Looney Tunes, a U.S. red vinyl promotional 12″ EP released to promote Van Halen, the first album by Van Halen.
This is an original pressing, and not the common counterfeit. (see below)
About this copy: This copy of Looney Tunes is a 1978 U.S. pressing on the Warner Brothers label.
As the EP is still sealed, the record is presumably new and unplayed.
The shrink wrap is fully intact with no rips or tears. There are a couple of breathe holes in the shrink wrap.
A virtually perfect copy of a rare Van Halen EP. This one is likely to be your final upgrade.
Background: Released in 1978 to radio stations in the U.S. to promote the then-new Van Halen LP, Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies featured five songs from the album:
- Runnin’ With the Devil
- Eruption
- Ice Cream Man
- You Really Got Me
- Jamie’s Cryin’
The tracks are the same as the versions on the album.
While the EP has been counterfeited, it’s not difficult to distinguish between the counterfeit and the original pressing. On the label, original copies have the spindle hole through Elmer Fudd’s torso; the counterfeits have the spindle hole through Elmer’s face.
There are also some differences in the colors on the cover, but the location of the hole on the disc is an easy way to identify a genuine copy.
