" Now more than 30 years old, “Avalon Sunset” ranks as one of the best albums from the legendary Van Morrison. From nice looks back to the blue and old-time rock and roll to touching love songs and pondering about faith and religion, Van the Man is in fine form on this album. Some of these songs, including "Whenever God Shines His Light" with Cliff Richard, "Have I Told You Lately," and “These Are the Days," have gone the distance. Some of the lesser-known songs, like "Contacting My Angel," “Daring Night" and “"When Will I Ever Learn to Live in God,” also hold up incredibly well. Most of the songs get on base though “Coney Island,” with Morrison sharing something of a poem or a story over some lovely, sweeping music, might divide listeners. The reissue has a nice take on “When the Saints Go Marching In.” It’s simply a great album which continues to shine after three decades. Highest recommendation." - Fan & Owner of this Album.
