What is it?
Van Morrison - Moondance (Warner Brothers, WS 1835) - orange label original
Classic after classic getting listed today, and here is another. This is an original UK pressing of the third (or second if you don't count Blowin' Your Mind) by the irascible Mr Morrison. Tends to get overlooked a bit cause of Astral Weeks, but Moondance is super cool too - even the bits that sound like Frank Sinatra doing the Doors. Glad Tidings - possibly my favourite Van Morrison song.
Condition
Sleeve: GOOD: OK. These sleeves are unlaminated and tend to get hammered if they are kept in anything but laboratory conditions. This has been around the block - general scuffing and ringwear - and has also come off worse in a battle to remove a sticker from the front cover. There is another cataloguing sticker on the back which I have left in place. Good, incidentally, means good, as in decent enough - whereas most records listed on eBay as good are knackered.
Record: GOOD+: This is a record that has been out and had a moderate amount of fun. A few surface scuffs and a little bit of crackle. Me, I like it that way - all this obsession with untouched records and virgin spindle holes strikes me as being a bit Freudian. This is a record in reasonably easy-going, fun condition. You want something perfect, stroll on.
TRUST MY GRADINGS; I worked in a top London collector's shop for years, and my VG is most people's MINT on eBay.
I recycle packaging when possible; it's cheap and also the right thing to do, people.
