INCREDIBLY ADVENTUROUS album from this hot on the scene LA based psych unit featuring drummer Carmine Appice, Bassist tim Bogert, keyborad and vocalist Mark Stein and Vinnie Martell on guitar. Its a wild concept album distilling the entire history of music onto two sides of vinyl. You move from classical music to big band, jazz, rock 'n' roll, beat and psychedelia with spoken word voices and all points in between. They then finish off with a nine minute track of their own. I can't emphasize enough how totally off the wall this album is - god knows what they must have made of it in 1968!
Tough to score in decent shape and never like this.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
Pressing: Atlantic, UK, 1968
Vinyl: Beautiful clean condition. No spindle marks and virtually no other signs of use. Displays a few non audible scuffs under a bright light - mainly from sliding in and out of the inner sleeve. Grades as top Ex+
Cover: Only very minor signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed fully laminated cover - retains gloss. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and one minor crease. Spine is stiff and square with original pinches top and bottom. Displays just a hint of storage wear. Impossible to find like this after 48 years. Grades as Ex+
