Condizioni : su una copertina neutra ed apribile in cartone rigido furono incollati dalla casa discografica la locandina a colori del film con l’aggiunta della scritta The First Edition... eccetera eccetera (scansione n°1) nel lato frontale, mentre sul retro un foglio di carta con la lista dei brani e vari altri crediti (scansione n° 2). All’interno troviamo incollato un foglio dalle tonalità blu su cui sono raffigurati diversi musicisti presenti nell’album (foto n° 3). Nel retro manca un lembo di carta nella parte bassa sinistra senza comunque alcun danno per i crediti stampati in blu. Oltre a questo si nota una modesta usura generale in particolare lungo il bordo superiore del fronte. Nessuna fessura sulle cuciture dei lati, scritte o macchie evidenti; bello stato, EX / Vinili: l'ascolto è praticamente senza difetti in entrambi, giusto poco lieve rumore superficiale all'inizio della prima traccia del lato A. Visualmente si può notare sotto una forte lampada alogena una modestissima foschia e pochi sfregamenti di carattere meramente estetico oltre un paio di leggerissimi clicchettii sulla 4 traccia del lato B; grande stato, EX+.

Condition : on a blank gatefold cover in strong cardboard were glued by the record company the movie color poster with the addition of the words The First Edition... and so on (scan No. 1) in the front ,while on the back a sheet of paper with the tracklist and various other credits (scan No. 2). Inside we find a glued blue toning paper on which are depicted various musicians on the album (photo No. 3). In the back is missing a paper strip in the lower left side still without any loss of the credits printed in blue. Besides this there is a slight overall wear especially along the upper edge of the front. The seams are all intact, no writing or noticeable stains, EX / Vinyls: listening is practically flawless in both LPs, just a little slight surface noise at the beginning of the first track on A-side in addition to fewest minor clicks on the fourth track of B-side. Visually you can see under a strong halogen lamp an extremely modest cloudiness and a few cosmetic rubs, EX+

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : album molto interessante pieno di belle ed eccitanti suoni. Nel primo LP il blues rock e la musica psichedelica abbondano sia nelle cinque canzoni che nei brani strumentali. Il secondo LP contiene una maggior variegata quantità di generi musicali. Dal jazz al soul e funk, dalla musica lounge al pop, talora fusi insieme e con il rock come collante tra loro. Qui i brani cantati sono ancora cinque.

In generale possiamo dire che gli strumenti più utilizzati sono le tastiere, la chitarra elettrica, basso, batteria e spesso anche il sintetizzatore. Qualche brano da ricordare: “Space Shuffle” (a2) uno strumentale interpretato da The Dragons dove un eccellente drumming accompagnato dal riff acido della chitarra e dalle tastiere danno vita a un memorabile suono rock. “Peace Garden” (a5) ancora uno strumentale dei Dragons con senzazioni psichedeliche dell’organo e vocalizzi femminili in sottofondo, “Jumpin’ with Jarvis” (a7) suonato da Al Oakie & Friends. Si tratta di un blues vivace condotto dall’armonica ben supportata da chitarra e sintetizzatore. “Zorro’s Revenge” (b1) cantata da The Bozone è esaltata da una grande chitarra elettrica ed un’altrettanto batteria. “Squeeze Box” (b5) di Richard Henn & Co., uno strumentale dalla sofisticata costruzione con sonorità blues delle tastiere ma anche sfumature jazz da parte della tromba. Nel secondo Lp: “Soul Teacher” (c6) cantata da The Dragons. Qui s’avverte una forte percussività del batterista, tastiere e chitarra dalle belle sonorità funky soul. “Cosmosis” (d1) dei BFI che altro non sono che The Dragons. Brano funky dal ritmo incalzante con tastiere in primo piano e percussioni insistenti, “Food of my Soul” (d5) cantata dai Dragons su una bella ritmica funk rock. Infine “Cholo” (d6) di Richard Henn & Co, ottimo brano strumentale jazz-funk che dopo una lenta partenza condotta dal flauto si trasforma in un eccitante veloce ritmo con tastiere, tromba e un magnifico assolo di batteria.

I titoli dei ventisei brani con interpreti e compositori possono esser letti guardando il retrocopertina raffigurato nella scansione n° 2, mentre per la loro durata è necessario guardare le quattro etichette nelle scansioni n° 4, 5, 6 e 7. 

Notes : very interesting album full of beautiful and exciting sonorities. In the first LP, blues rock and psychedelic music abound both in the five songs and in instrumental pieces. The second LP includes a greater amount of diverse music genres. From jazz to soul and funk, from lounge music to pop, sometimes blended together and with the rock as their bond. Here there are other five songs.

In general we can say that the most used instruments are the keyboards, electric guitar, bass, drums and often the synthesizer. Some tracks to remember: "Space Shuffle" (a2) an instrumental performed by The Dragons where an excellent drumming accompanied by the acid riffs of the guitar and the keyboards give life to a memorable rock sound. "Peace Garden" (a5) still an instrumental by The Dragons with organ psychedelic sensations and female vocalizations in the background, "Jumpin' with Jarvis" (a7) played by Al Oakie & Friends. It is a lively blues led by the harmonica well supported by guitar and synthesizer. "Zorro's Revenge" (b1) sung by The Bozone is enhanced by a great electric guitar and an equally drummer. "Squeeze Box" (b5) by Richard Henn & Co. which is an instrumental by the sophisticated texture with blues sound by the keyboards as well as jazz nuances by the trumpet. In the second LP: "Soul Teacher" (c6) sung by The Dragons. Here you feel a strong percussiveness of the drums, keyboards and guitar from good funky soul sound. "Cosmosis" (d1) of BFI that others are not that The Dragons. A funky track characterized by a brisk rhythm with keyboards in the foreground and insistent percussion, "Food of my Soul" (d5) sung by the Dragons on beautiful rock & funk sonorities. Finally, "Cholo" (d6) by Richard Henn & Co, great instrumental jazz-funk piece that after a slow start led by the flute turns into an exciting fast-paced development thank to keyboards, trumpet and a great drum solo.

The titles of the twenty-six songs with performers and composers can be read looking at the back cover depicted in the scan No. 2, while for their duration is necessary to look at the four labels in scans No. 4, 5, 6 and 7.
