Extremely RARE Indian first pressing of the psychedelic/garage compilation "Simla Beat 70" on Gramophone Co. Of India Records, distributed by EMI (1970). 
"The young at heart and the alive are in India, too. But they were drifting...in their own, wild ways. In sporadic bursts of enthusiasm all over the country...till 1968 when the oldest cigarette company with  a young heart came along. India Tobacco Company Limited with their annual All-India Simla Beat Contest.
This LP is a collection of the best numbers played at the 1970 All-India Simla Beat Contest."

GRADING:
VG+ COVER with minor overall wear. Please see photos for details.
- Original unlaminated first-pressing sleeve.
- Minor corner and edge wear, predominantly at bottom.
- Partial discolouring to white areas of the back cover, as shown.

VG RECORD "Made In India", with very passable audio reproduction throughout. 
- The record has a fair amount of general hairlining, as well as a few scratches. 
- Sporadic background crackle in between tracks and in some quiet passages. 
- A number of recurring clicks or pops, but nothing serious.
- Original first pressing green Gramophone Co. Of India labels with a single spindle line on each label.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "2 YJE 146-1" and "2 YJE 147-1".
- Mothers/Stampers: "1 / G" on Side One and "1 / G" on Side Two. 
- This record is fully certified to be an original, very first pressing of "Simla Beat 70", released in India in 1970.
