Ministry of Sound's Origins series has already cast an eye over the roots of jungle this month and now flips the script entirely with a look at the genesis of disco. It's a bumper 2 x 12" pack that ticks all the right boxes with plenty of big names from Diana Ross to The Jacksons, Earth, Wind & Fire and Barry White. Rather that sticking strictly to disco there are sidesteps into funk, soul, Motown and pop. Firm favourites like Candi Station's "Young Hearts Run Free", Chic's "Le Freak" and Boney M's "Daddy Cool" will always get a crowd going if dropped at the right time on the right floor.
