Vaura is an experimental band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2009 by singer, guitarist and primary songwriter Joshua Strawn and featuring Kevin Hufnagel on lead guitar, Toby Driver on bass and Charlie Schmid on drums.
The Missing sees Vaura capitalize, in a more resounding and lasting way, on the assimilation of elements from various genres that they had applied to their debut. With the band members staggering pedigree’s in the realms of metal, post-punk and goth-rock and having already released one hell of an album Selenelion, one would hope they continue their interesting amalgamation of genres. The Missing unleashes all the catchiness of goth-rock staples from years ago, post-punk’s penchant of progression coupled with black metal’s signature atmosphere to drown listeners in gloomy melancholy. 
Vocalist Josh Strawn and Kevin Hufnagel, of Dysrhythmia fame and one half of the newly reformed Gorguts, supply brilliant technical leads and danceable gothic rhythms throughout the record's run time The hook-laden choruses of bands like The Cure can be heard echoing throughout the whole record as well as Strawn does a lovely job in donning the gothic ethos. The blast beats, fills and overall drum work by Charlie Schmid litter the album with moments of acute excellence. A track like, “The Fire” sees the band launching a full-out black metal musical tirade and is easily the heaviest track presented on The Missing. 
The metalheads could say this isn't heavy enough or not metal at all, goth kids might declare this not brooding or dark enough… either way, you'll never satisfy everyone with a release and that's where Vaura actually shine. They aren't trying to please everyone, instead they streamlined this album with much less filler material than their debut and built upon what they felt their sound encompassed. The Missing was one of the more unheralded albums of 2013 and one that shouldn't be missed if you are a fan of any of the aforementioned bands or styles.

The Missing is a huge breath of fresh air and a proverbial shot in the arm for those who are following the ever changing, cascading evolution of metal.
THE CONDITION OF THE 2 RECORD SET IS NEAR MINT - I CANNOT CALL IT MINT AS IT WAS NOT SEALED BUT LOOKS UNPLAYED - THERE ARE NO HAIR LINES VISIBLE UNDER BRIGHT LIGHTS,- THERE ARE NO SCRATCHES AND THIS IS A VERY HEAVY FIRST PRESSING US RECORD.

THE SHINY JACKET IS AGAIN, NEAR MINT WITH NO SPLITS - SHOWS NO AGE WEAR  NO RING WEAR, AND NO CORNER AND EDGE BUMPING - NO WRITING OR LABELS! -  (SEE PHOTO)

FINALLY ONE LAST WORD RE HAIRLINES, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANY NON SEALED RECORD WITHOUT THEM, MANY HAD THEM FROM NEW. MOSTLY THEY ARE A RESULT OF STORAGE AND USE AND USUALLY HAVE LITTLE IMPACT ON THE SOUND QUALITY. THE SAME GOES FOR BACKGROUND NOISE, UNFORTUNATELY ALL RECORDS WILL HAVE SOME AND THIS VARIES AND REFLECTS THE PRESSING QUALITY. 

Most records have production marks where someone touched or moved the vinyl while it was still semi-soft.  These marks look like smudges, but are not scratches or "paper scuffs" and do not usually sound.  Untouched vinyl from newly-opened records have these marks.

How I Grade Condition Of Discs

Mint

This means I have owned it from new or purchased from a distributors warehouse, basically it means absolutely new shape, never been played or out of its dust cover. In the case of LP's, a North American album will have to be factory sealed (anyone can reseal an album!) Take Note: European and Japaneses albums were never shrink wrapped!

Note: Being mint does not guarantee it's free of pops and clicks, many pressings especially from the US were made with very poor vinyl and in a hurry which means often there are imperfections in the pressing. As a former importer, we were often given back brand new albums due to clicks heard in the playback.

Mint Minus - No such thing, it's either mint or not.

Excellent - A disc is super clean, with no visible marks

 Excellent Plus, means it's probably mint but can't be proven by me.

Excellent minus, is a disc that is excellent except it may have some markings that do not show up in the playing

VG - A disc that is STILL in good shape, WILL have some scuffs or scratches, not in excellent shape but well worth owning. VG + and ++,a disc that is that much better than VG.
