THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE COVER ONLY - THERE IS NO RECORD. This is the paste over version of Andy Warhol's cover for the first Velvet Underground LP. The back of the cover has a black paste over to cover the gross image that appears on the screen behind the band in the photo. The image was of a human torso hanging upside down by the feet, and the record recalled it pretty quickly. They pasted over some of the remaining stock, but the cover was quickly redesigned. The paste over isn't nearly as collectible as the one showing the hanging torso, but someone may need it. This auction is for worn cover only. The peel is gone, and the cover is scuffed and soiled, with a three inch split to the top seam where the cover opens. There is noxious writing on all the photos in the gatefold. I tried to erase the word 'blind' by the Lou Reed photo, with a pencil tip eraser, and I had good results for just a brief effort. A good art eraser may clean up all the writing which is made with an old grease stick pen. This cover is in 'fair' condition at best. I WANT TO REPEAT THAT THERE IS NO RECORD, JUST THE COVER, AND IT IS IN LOUSY CONDITION.

I don’t see why anyone needs two weeks to make up their mind. I am not inflexible about ‘no returns’ at all. I use USPS Media Mail, Standard Mail, or First Class Mail to save you money whenever I can, and I will combine won items, if possible, to save you money on shipping. On small packages, under two pounds, the new rates indicate that Priority is just as cheap as Standard, so in those cases I will use Priority Mail, which is much faster. This item will be shipped by Media Mail.
