THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO-SELF TITLED (1968, Verve)

Condition of Cover: Nice VG, some EW, some SW. Tiny ding along left front middle edge, 3 thin faint scratch marks in upper left corner area. Banana mostly present (approx. 85%, it appears the stem was replaced a bit higher than where it originally sat), some part missing in between stem and body of banana, some nicks, wear and small tears to top of body and bottom of stem area where the separation occurred. Banana body and stem have some minor edgewear, but not too much. Name in pen written small on back side of cover in upper left. Some faint small spots along right and bottom front edges.

Condition of Record: Visual low VG. Record ranges from VG+ play to VG play to VG- play on my turntable. There is a quick nonrepeating skip in the early part of the song "I'm Waiting For The Man."

"Run Run Run," "All Tomorrow's Parties," and "European Son" played VG+ for me.

"I'll Be Your Mirror and "The Black Angel's Death Song" played VG- for me with a bit more persistent light background surface noise, but didn't detract from the song in my opinion. 

"Sunday Morning," "I'm Waiting For The Man"(barring the skip noted above), "Femme Fatale," "Venus in Furs," "Heroin, "There She Goes Again" played VG with a fleck of background surface noise occasionally. This is how it played on my Gemini turntable using a Grado cartridge.        

Additional Information: Original to the period (first issue 1967, this one--> 1968 pressing). Gatefold. V6-5008. Stereo. No torso on back side of cover (background of stage darkened/airbrushed). Peelable banana on, "Andy Warhol" and "Peel Slowly and See" on cover.

Grading Scale: My grading scale is as follows:

SEALED, M-, NM, NM-, EX+, EX, EX-, VG+, VG, VG-, G+. I do not sell anything lower than G+. My records are visually and play graded to check for accuracy. My VG+ should have little to no surface noise according to my turntable using a Grado cartridge, and my EX gradings are equivalent to Goldmine's VG++ grading, just more descriptive within the grading spectrum of VG++. My M- is open unplayed. My NM and NM- gradings are reserved for items opened once and played. I generally default to VG if the cover has any noticeable ringwear, surface wear, or seam splits.
