Description
Verve Records 5008, this is an original pressing - NOT a reissue or a boot - of the classic debut LP from The Velvet Underground & Nico. Please read the following description carefully. The gatefold cover is an ORIGINAL mono jacket, with the peelable banana on the front intact. The banana has not been removed, but the stem looks like it was partially peeled and torn, then put back on creating a small space between the stem and the rest of the banana as shown in the picture below. The back cover photo is NOT airbrushed and the dancer is fully visible. This was a pre-sticker pressing as well, as there are no signs of sticker residue, wear, etc. The cover is really stunning and clean, showing only a few minor indentations at the spine and a 1" top right corner area - where the corner had been slightly bent - of seam wear on the the back gatefold where the record is inserted. There is no ring wear. Vinyl is an original blue/silver label STEREO pressing. I do not know how they got mixed up, but many times stereo LP's ended up in mono covers and this seems to have happened here. The vinyl is beautiful NM-, shiny and clean with only a few minor paper marks on the surface. Playbackk is ver nice and labels are crisp and clean with no signs of spindle wear.
