The Velvet Underground - Squeeze
After Lou Reed left the Velvet Underground, bassist
Doug Yule took control of the group. Retaining the
name "The Velvet Underground", Yule assembled
several new lineups of the band and toured the U.S.
By the time Yule's VU recorded their first album,
the band featured Boston-based vocalist Willie Alexander
and was playing a set of conventional pop / rock songs.
Squeeze, the only album recorded with a bastardized
version of the Velvet Underground, was released in
1973 to uniformly terrible reviews - Yule broke up
the band shortly after it's release.
Over the years, Squeeze has not only become increasingly
rare - after all, not many copies of the record were pressed -
it has disappeared from the official Velvet Underground
discography, and Yule's attempt to prolong the band's
career has virtually been forgotten.
Polydor 2383 180 Super, made in England, original / 1st edition, 1972.
Condition of the record NM, appears to be almost unplayed (acoustically as new - visually some ultra-light
"paper scuffs", besides glossy surface - small writing on label side 2, see picture),
cover EX- (some very light ring wear and corner wear - 3 small pale spots from erasing, hardly visible, in the upper white area on the front - one small spot from erasing in the upper white area on the backside).
Grading scheme :
M = Mint - as new - record unplayed.
NM = Near Mint - very few, light signs of usage that don’t affect play - the cover has only minor signs of wear.
EX-NM - between Excellent and Near Mint.
EX = Excellent - some signs of usage, but very little lessening in sound quality – the cover might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VG = Very Good - no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch - normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.
All records have been visually graded very carefully. At least partially they have been audio graded (Linn LP 12 / Grado Master / stereo), especially for critical spots.
Audible defects are indicated.
Mailing details :
The records are taken out of the sleeve to avoid splitting - if not still sealed. They are sent in professional mailers with proper stiffeners for extra protection.
If the maximum weight for the concerning kind of shipping will not be exceeded :
If necessary, a brand new innersleeve is included (not with box-sets !). A brand new outersleeve for the cover is included in every case - for additional protection too. The original innersleeve is included if available and in a condition to be worthwhile.
