Description

THE VELVET UNDERGROUND - 'THE VELVET UNDERGROUND'. STEREO. MGM CS 8108
First UK pressing on the blue and gold MGM labels. EX- sleeve with a few light laminate creases.

Record in VG+/EX- condition too. A great copy, with some background noise in quieter areas. When was the last time you saw one of these? A rare opportunity! I read somewhere that only 300 copies were pressed of this early 1969 variation? The 1971 reissues are much more common.

(Camera shows shadow at top of each pic).

Amazing UK copy of this fantastically elusive and sought after third (self titled) Velvet Underground LP.

Original UK LP issue on MGM labels. CS 8108

Full matrix stampers:
Side 1: 2YMG 291-1G       1       G       stampers
Side 2: 2YMG 292-1G       1       G       stampers

Super-rare UK original.
VG+/EXCELLENT MINUS sleeve, VG+/EXCELLENT MINUS Vinyl and EXCELLENT labels.

(1969) MGM. CS 8108 STEREO (UK).

Any questions please email...

I have no need to use the words MEGA, ULTRA, or c**p on about how many of these LPs got trashed at parties. I try to avoid exhaustive usage of exclamation marks in my honest descriptions and I also avoid the over-use of CAPITAL letters (unless they are used for relevant emphasis to my auction description) and I do not wish to shout at my buyers. I know that you know about the records you wish to purchase. One other thing - I do not sell items which have had the opening edges of the cover trimmed by a guillotine or blade to make the covers appear in better condition. Some other sellers do this as a regular practice, and it's just not on.
