Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! 1st UK pressing of Venom "Black Metal" released in 1983 on NEAT Records labels. WOW! I Love it. I havn't played this album for over 30 years and I forgot how enjoyable this is! I played this so loud it nearly shook the house down! A very rare and scarce album in this condition, especially on the original black vinyl, (The only way to hear this album in my personal opinion).  Note This is the original not a reissue and on the first issued black vinyl exceptionally rare and scarce to find in this top condition. It has always been stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the cover and sleeve for protection. This is how I have always stored my records. Visually the vinyl looks barely ever played in my opinion. Just a feint trace of a hand full of spider traces on one side if that around the spindle hole. No needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops just beautiful sound quality and fantastic bassey feel and separation only heard like this on the earliest pressings. This is complete with the 1st UK issued embossed front cover printed by 'SLEEVEPRINT' , Bedford ,England. This is in absolutely stunning condition being kept in a poly sleeve in a box for over 35 years. Note: There is small vinyl pertrusion at the top edge of the cover to mention only but not noticed andhard to spot unless looked for in my opinion. Please listen to the full recording in the player below. I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to near as mint throughout in my opinion. Please note: There was no poster or lyric inner with this album when I purchased it. I think some came with later coloured wax/vinyl pressings or pressings issued by other countries.
 I dought that you could find a better 1st UK issue copy of this album in my opinion!
For me the audio quality has always been my prime interest with vinyl. Audio graded at least excellent plus to Near As Mint  in my opinion!

Venom are an English extreme metal band formed in 1978 in Newcastle upon Tyne.





Coming to prominence towards the end of the new wave of British heavy metal, Venom's first two albums—Welcome to Hell (1981) and Black Metal (1982)—are considered a major influence on thrash metal and extreme metal in general.





Venom's second album proved influential enough that its title was used as the name of the extreme metal subgenre of black metal. Black Metal is the second album by English heavy metal band Venom.





It was released in November 1982, during the great flourishing of metal music in the UK that was the new wave of British heavy metal, and is considered a major influence on the thrash metal, death metal and black metal scenes that emerged in the 1980s and early 1990s.




Although lending its name to the latter subgenre of heavy metal, today it is still debated if the album's music is thrash metal or black metal.




AllMusic has described it as "extreme metal", while Moynihan & Søderlind in their book affirm that the album "carved in stone some of black metal's essential features". Nevertheless, its lyrics and imagery were a major influence on the early Norwegian black metal scene.




The cover art was made by the band's bassist and singer Conrad "Cronos" Lant.



In 1998, it was voted the 52nd among the 100 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die by the British magazine Kerrang! readers.





It was included in Robert Dimery's book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.



The title track was featured on the soundtrack of the video game Tony Hawk's American Wasteland.

The Vinyl
On visual inspection this looks almost as new in my opinion. I find it hard to even see a blemish on the playing surface, any that could possibly be seen angled to the light would be sleeve removal scuffs only. The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping. Importantly, there are no visual marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops during the play of this vinyl. Note This is the thicker and heavier type of vinyl only found like this on the earliest 1st UKpressings.

The Audio Quality
I have play tested the vinyl two times on two different turntables/systems at very loud volume prior to this listing. Once for you to hear the complete album. (Can be heard in the player above)
The moment that the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious to me that this has barely ever been played at all. Crystal clear and vibrant stunning top audio throughout the play of this vinyl.  I would grade the audio at least excellent excellent plus to Near as Mint through out!

Please note! Allowances must be made for these pressings.  I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for very light isolated static type ticks that might be noticed in quieter places, but not consistent through out the audio. Debrit was noted on the playing surface after play. A constant clean before each play is recommended because this vinyl has been stored in a case laying dormant for over 35 years. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static ticks/ crackle. constant cleaning before each play will reduce this and enhance the audio quality.
 
The Labels
These are the original 1st issue NEAT Records labels  (Only 1st UK press) Barely a handful of spider marks can be seen angled to the light on one side, barely seen at all!  This has barely ever been played in my personal opinion!. There is little if no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round. Very rare like this!

The Record Sleeve
This is the original 1st issue t paper record sleeve. Patented with correct date stamped. This is straight and very clean with some very, very slight browning at the edges to mention onlyThere are no edge splits or tears. The vinyl is always stored separately from the vinyl. This is how I have always stored my records.

The Cover
This is the original 1st issue Un laminated embossed front only cover. Super clean and straight. No nasty creases to report and any storage wear is only really noticed if looked for in my opinion. Any edge rubbing is very slight only and not noticed unless looked for in my opinion. Note: A slight sign of vinyl pertrusion is seen if looked for only at the top edge but nothing too bad in my opinion.. The spine has absolutely no rubbing all text is readable.  Rich and very vibrant colours. These black covers are very hard to keep in this condition after 35 years! I would grade this cover at excellent plus in my opinion.
