Rare obscure 45 rpm NW Latin lounge: VENUS & THE BAJA COUNTY JESTERS - Cielito Lindo / Hold On to What You've Got - Passport Records 101, released in the 1970's. This private press release (they were from Oregon, but label doesn't say so) is an odd, fun combo of Latin, country and lounge; the female singer on the A-side was a Mexican midget named Venus who sings in Spanish; B-side is a male vocalist singing soulful lounge in English, with some great spoken-word delivery between choruses. Their LP turns up once in a while (also on Passport), but this 45 is virtually unheard of, and neither song was on the LP - I can't find any other copies of it available online or listed in past-auction listings. Condition is VG+ (minor surface scuffs, plays VG+ with some minor background; clean labels).
