The first album the band have made since 1997 to boast the original duo of Nina Gordon and Louise Post, 'Ghost Notes' is proof positive that there's a lot more to Veruca Salt than mere nostalgia. Rather, the chemistry between these two figures that originally sparked off the adulation of the band's ardent fanbase is more than manifest on these colourful and attitude-laden ditties, which eschew grunge revivalism for a timeless demolition derby of sugarsweet hooks and ballsy raunch. Rather unlike the Roald Dahl character from which their drew their name, Veruca Salt's lifespan and enduring influence seems assured.
