VERVE 10 LP SET2615005.Each LP has "sample copy-not for sale" printed on labels.The LP's appear to be unplayed.The book begins with a musical biography of each artist represented and as you can see from the pictures each artist is portrayed in a nice grainy impressionistic way which,to me at least,tends to confer a sense of the artists immortality aided by the unsurpassable use of black & white photography-not just a collection of music but an artistic rendering of the artists themselves- This album of albums is a work of loving art.The 2nd half of this book houses each album,with each artist represented on one side of each record,within plain black sleeves.The whole book is about 40mm thick.There are a very few light wear marks to rear.The title edge has come loose somewhat but this would be easily fixed with some glue and,while being thus inconsequential,would restore the cover to near perfect condition.As it is though the book is still very tight and seems to have been handled quite infrequently.Being a promotional set this fine artefact would be rare.Made in Germany.Once again I can state with certainty that each LP is in MINT Condition.The artists represented are Ella Fitzgerald,Louis Armstrong,Jimmy Smith,Wes Montgomery,Stan Getz,Gerry Mulligan,Oscar Peterson,Lionel Hampton,Count Basie,Duke Ellington,Billie Holiday,Anita O'Day,Benny Goodman,Gene Krupa,Johnny Hodges,Lester Young,Art Tatum,Bill Evans,Charlie Parker,Dizzy Gillespie.Each song lists the personnel(where applicable) and recording date.
