A NICE VERY 1st PRESS MONO FILLER AT THE VERY LEAST

This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!

The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained some SOLO material.

By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

After giving her a gentle vacuum clean, followed by an ultrasonic bath, I played through both sides-at volume.

I was not disappointed with the audio playback! The audio blasted out with force and clarity...There was some light background crackle (which I found quite warming) -certainly nothing offensive....I have recorded a clip of ‘Honey Pie’on the notoriously unforgiving quieter side 4 to show a true representation of the audio from each disc.

Both vinyls do carry light marks to the vinyls.

BUT…

NOTHING TO MAKE HER JUMP OR SKIP on my Focus 1 record deck (on a light setting too)

The Labels:

All four of the labels have the DARKER apple.

Each have the 1st press: "SOLD IN THE UK..." statements.

NONE OF THE LABELS have the “An EMI Recording” text (which shows in their incredibly early Mothers and Stampers.

There are many light spindle mark, these can really only be seen when angling towards the light....As well as a name to the sides 2 & 3 labels and some lifting to side 3-please see the detailed images for yourselves.

Next to NO HOLE WEAR at all!

"Mfd in the U.K." text to each of the labels.

It is the very first printing run, with TOP loading and a creamy finish (rather than the later brilliant white editions).

Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold.

The spine remains strong.

There is some slight knocking/rubbing to the corners/edges.

Superb cover-creamy white, with just a handful of small crescents of spidering.

VERY WIDESPINE

Correct MONO cover as it doesn't have the printing of Stereo to the back top right.

GLORIOUS and clean on the inside of the gatefold.

Original BLACK inners. They each carry feathering to their openings as well as tears to the windows and some splits to their sides.

....But...

THEY ARE ALL ORIGINAL-NOT REPRO!

They are all ORIGINAL.

Each have tape residue to the edges on the front with each displaying what appears to be remnants of lifting from being stuck to the black inners at some point. Ringo has a small pin hole to the top border.

There are splits to the folds but still lays flat and you wouldn't be able to see these if you decided to frame it.
