Description

This is a great compilation celebrating 5 years of jazz in the Dutch town of Venlo. This compilation covers the period of 1970 till 1975. It says Venlose Jazz Club Life on the cover but I suspect they mean “Live”. The record s is a private press for members of this jazzclub and only a very few were made. I have only seen one other copy and it sold for over $400 on ebay. The record comes with an inlay stating the performing bands but not the songs that are being played. Side 1: Valuas City Jazzband, Hot Club De Rotterdam, Misja Mengelberg/Han Bennink, Ben Webster/Tete Montoliu/Pierre Courbois/Wim Essed, Rein De Graaff/Dik Vennik Quartet feat. Red Rodney, Trio Louis van Dijk feat. John Engels and Jacques Schols. Side 2: Valuas City Jazzband, Toots Thielemans, Mal Waldron, Ronnie Scott/Mike Carr Trio, Trio Louis van Dijk.
