Description
Very nice and VHTF! Henry Whitter ~ Buff Bluebird B-5259. Side A "Henry Whitter's Fox Chase" and Side B is the scarce "Fox Chase-No. 2"
This record is a scarce item and is very hard to find in this condition. One side of the record, “Henry Whitter’s Fox Chase” was recorded on Tuesday, August 2, 1927 in Bristol, Tennessee. The other side of the record is “Fox Chase No. 2” recorded on Tuesday, October 1, 1929 in Memphis, Tennessee.
In August of 1927, Ralph Peer was working for Victor, and he went down to Bristol, TN to record local hillbilly talent. A couple of the groups recorded here for the first time were the Carter Family, and Jimmie Rodgers who was quite popular as well. Henry Whitter was among those who were recorded that August. Whitter is also famous for recording with G. B. Grayson as Grayson & Whitter for Victor and Gennett between 1927-1929. This record has been visually graded only. We are not professional record graders, so please see all 12 photos as they are a critical part of our description. We would be happy to provide additional photos if you need. We will package this very carefully. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day.
