Description
I dare you, try to find any information on this unique and rare KU Jay-Hawk item - it's hours of study just for what information I have gathered on it.
Not everyone has an old player for these 78RPM records...but...everyone has a wall or trophy section available to display such a rare and unique record, from one of the top-rated universities in the USA!
The KU Pep Song, "I'm A Jay-Hawk", by The Criterion Quartet, Band Association - number 10089-B - etched number 8777
The KU Alma Mater, "Crimson And The Blue", same quartet - number 10089-A -etched number 8778 - this does have a section to the right of the label where the grooved recording area is extra noticeable, and one at its bottom left at its beginning (less noticeable)
There is no sleeve available for this, unless you wish it sent in the Columbia sleeve that it came to me in. The choice is yours, and the sleeve is not perfect, but it well protected this album until now. The stand shown is not part of this offer.
I do Not have a player capable of the speed of the 78, so to satisfy my curiosity of its playability on both sides, I played it at 45RPM. I love the sounds from vinyl anyway. It sounds as if it will play at its proper speed as any good old 78 does, but possibly not the single area to the right side of the label for the Alma Mater, with the highly light arm of the childs player that I have it does hold at that point, but plays once adjusted off of that skinny area. The beginning area described had no issue on this player.. The "I'm A Jay-Hawk" side played very well, though slowly, of course.
With that tiny bit of info, I now offer this up for auction, "As Is", shipped safely.
This does have a Small reserve on it to help cover the costs of fees, shipping, and unseen costs.
