- Here is the holy grail of Beatles' Lp's, the 1st release black/gold label Parlophone 1963 Beatles Please Please Me mono with the Dick James credits on the labels. I just play-tested the LP yesterday, and can comfortably assign a VG+ to EX- grading to the audio. There were absolutely no skips, and 90% of the static was detected between tracks and in the quieter moments. This LP was so popular that most surviving examples have been played to the point of being worn out and harmful to the stylus on the turntable. The example we are offering here has definitely been played over the years, but remains an enjoyable audio experience without question. Most EX copies are selling for over $1000 US, so this is an opportunity to experience this unreal sound at a fraction of that cost. We took images on several occasions and in different lighting, and really struggled getting anything representative of the LP. Glare and other lighting issues made image taking very difficult. We hope the images shown here provide a fair idea to potential buyers of the condition it's in. The cover front grades at a definite Ex-, with no problems noted. The rear id just a Vg due to the tea cup stains, etc. The inner sleeve is Vg+, the audio are previously mentioned is VG+ to Ex-. We don't have the ability to clean the LP with a VPI cleaner or similar device, which would most likely remove decades of buildup in the grooves. Bidding on this scarce/fabulous opens at just $399.99. Insured shipping within the continental USA will be $16 via FEDEX. Ebay is forcing me to indicate a maximum of $4 to ship this item professionally packed, which is completely ridiculous. We will pay any additional up-charge after the $16 which covers packing insurance and delivery. This usually amounts to $5-$10+ additional cost when shipping FEDEX at this weight and value when insured fully. Best of luck bidding!
