Description
A few more records that rarely get played these days, so it's time to let someone else enjoy them. I plan to have several listings over the next few months. Grading is conservative, and I have also indicated any scratches or other damage, etc which affect playing.
A few bidders have enquired about shipping costs. This is difficult to calculate exactly until a parcel has been packed, but as a guide, parcels containing one disc shipped Air Mail, Small Packet Rate to the USA normally cost $25. This includes $7 for a purpose-made box which I have to buy in at that price. A similar parcel shipped within the United Kingdom would normally cost £5.70, again including the cost of the box. Obviously the cost of shipping per disc is less if a worthwhile parcel can be sent (The boxes I use may seem expensive, but from feedback I've received they have been very well-liked by bidders so far. And they are about as light as you can get without endangering the contents.)
A very early and rare disc by the " The Banjo King", Vess Ossman. According to the disc itself, recorded on June 18th, 1897, which makes it 110 years old!Frankly, this disc looks pretty rough, although I've yet to find any Berliner that plays with even reasonable fidelity. After playing it, and visual grading, I feel G is the most accurate grading. There are numerous scuffs and small scratches, which are not too disturbing.
