This was the Beatles' second official release, following their hugely popular Please Please Me. This record was released on the 30th November 1963 and went to the number 1 position (knocking of their own Please Please Me lp) on the 7th of December. Staying at number 1 for 21 weeks! As a little note: they had already sold 250,000 copies before the release and so accepted a silver disc BEFORE release!

QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT 166g!
There are only some light marks to the vinyl...I have just listened to the whole of the record after a gentle vacuum clean and was incredibly happy with the clear audio reproduction-I even heard a couple of harmonies I hadn't noticed before :) There was barely ANY background noise, with this only being noticed occasionally inbetween a couple of songs...it sounded wonderfully rich.
REMAINS FLAT AND SHINY
CERTAINLY NO SKIPS OR STICKS

Light spindle marks visible when angled towards the light, with only very slight hole wear. Side 1 had one needle mark across the label-as you can see in the detailed images provided.

(This is an unusual tax code for this lp as the MT tax code was used from January 1963 only until the 1st of June 1963...a very short running indeed and as this record was released in November 1963...THIS IS THE TRANSITIONAL STAMPING-it is a very unusual label indeed!)

 Mid sized Mono in top right corner. 
Lovely cover, with only around 3 or 4 very small cresents of spidering to the laminate near the opening-as well as some fingers of spidering eminating from the seams....Really nice.
VERY FRAMEABLE
There is only some slight discolouration to the back card as can be seen in the photo's provided, as well as a small name to the back top right corner and what ap[pears to be tape residue to the opening panel (people used to put tape on the opening section of these sleeves so they would wear better).
 The corners are wonderfully strong.

It is the correct "USE EMITEX" inner with the tracing paper-like lining.
It also carries the incredibly early "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" text to the bottom left corner, as well as "MADE IN ENGLAND."
There is feathering to the opening and two sides have some old tape applied to them-not sure why as they don't appear to have been split.
LOVELY AND ORIGINAL.
