The Beatles

Let It Be----Box Set---

PXS 1

*ALL COMPLETE & ORIGINAL TOO*

Professionally CLEANED

Well folks here's a COMPLETE Let It Be Box..

This was the Beatles' 13th and final offical album release. Released on the 8th of May 1970, it reached the number 1 slot just over two weeks later and stayed there for 3 weeks. It was also, sadly, to prompt the Beatles' last live performance: on top of the Apple Building in London on the 30th of January 1969.

An interesting little bit about this album is the cover was originally intended to be the cover which was used for the Beatles' compilation in 1973 for their 'Red' and 'Blue' album.

Even though recording for the album was finished by the end of May '69, it wasn't until March 1970, when Phil Spector was brought in, when it finally got released.

So, here follows the details of this little beauty:

Catalogue number: PXS 1

Matrix Numbers:

Side 1: YEX 773-2U

Side 2: YEX 774-3U

Mothers & Stampers:

Side 1: 17/GPM

Side 2: 24/GRG

Vinyl:

141g

EX.

CLEANED WITH Pro-Ject VCS MkII Vacuum Record Cleaner & Ultasonically cleaned too-just for good measure ;)

The vinyl has just light marks to her....Nothing feelable at all. After giving her a gentle professional clean, I listened to the album, all the way through and at volume...SUPERB RICH & CLEAR AUDIO!

Certainly not jumps or skips!

On loud playback I barely even noticed any background noise to speak of at all...Maybe a couple of very light and soft OCCASIONAL background pops-if I were to be INCREDIBLY CRITICAL!

The audio was perfectly clear, with a rich and pure output-an absolute pleasure to listen to....Even the fade in and out of the tracks are lovely and clear.

LET IT BE shone out in all it's glory, being wonderfully clean and clear-Turn her up-I did :)

Side 2 didn't have any issues of anything important to mention-other than the lovely rich, clean and clear audio!

STILL RETAINS THE GLORIOUS SHEEN

Labels:

EX.

Original DARK GREEN 1st pressing labels. Lovely and clean. Barely any hole wear to mention...just 4 or 5 very, VERY light spindle marks, visible only when angled to the light and looking for them(!)-absolutley nothing to worry about at all.

NO WRITING

Shines out bright, with the deep green Apple.

WONDERFULLY DISPLAYABLE

Record Sleeve:

EX-.

1st PRESS RED APPLE TO THE BACK

Glorious glossy sheen to both the front and back.

Two of the corners have some knocking and rubbing, with the other two at the opening having just light rubbing.

The spine is superbly clear and flat, with barely any rubbing at all and remains perfectly legible.

The Apple to the back is RED-showing it to be the very first pressing...If you need more convincing than the end matricies as well as the Mothers and Stampers! Not often at all you get to see these up for sale!

There are some crescents of spidering to the laminate, mainly near the opening with a few small fingers of spidering emanating from the seams...Nothing offensive at all.

NO WRITING

NO RIPS OR TEARS

WOULD FRAME INCREDIBLY WELL

*REMAINS VIBRANT IN COLOUR TO THIS DAY*

Record Inner:

EX+.

Die-cut plain white inner. No writing...

Wonderful condition and all ORIGINAL.

"MADE IN ENGLAND"

&

“PATENTS APPLIED FOR”

Just light discolouration and some very light creasing...

W-O-W!

Outer Cover:

VG+.

When taking the inner tray out of the outer cover, the cover still keeps it's shape-this is how I have photographed her. Now that's a good solid example! (most I have seen collapse when the inner tray support has been taken away).

To the front, the pictures are lovely and clear-gorgeous sheen to the fully laminated outer cover. The corners are solid too, with just a small degree of storage wear to one corner, with the bottom left hand side corner having a very small rubbed split of just around 5mm....The back panel has a small 1cm split in the middle, next to the opening..I am being very honest, open and critical here.

There is a small patch of tape residue from what I would believe was the original pricing sticker-shame its not still there really, but this residue could be removed if you wished.

There is a line of spidering to the side/opening of the front and back panels-but remains inconsequential-it can be seen in the detailed images provided.

Superb, SOLID example!

It really is in great shape.

NO WRITING

The back of the outer cover has the credit of..

"Designed By John Kosh Photographs by Ethan A Russell Printed and made in Great Britain by Garrod & Lofthouse Limited (Patents Pending)" to the bottom

***REMAINS A VERY COLLECTABLE COPY***

(AGAIN: PLEASE SEE THE DETAILED IMAGES FOR YOURSELVES-AND SEE MY FEEDBACK FOR POSITIVE REVIEWS AND HAPPY CUSTOMERS)

Inner Trays:

VG-.

**BOTH HAVE SURVIVED-NOT A REPRODUCTION PIECE IN SIGHT**

It is the ORIGINAL black inner tray (with the grey inside)and with the rounded corners-which has survived incredibly well. The edges are lightly rubbed-but not overly so, with just a couple of mm splits to the creases..I am being rather critical.

The card inner, where the book is housed, comes in two pieces. There is some handling wear and little tears to the inner corners-please see the detailed images.

Hard to find these in any condition.

AGAIN-VERY CRITICAL HERE!

The Book:

EX.

RARE PAST-OVER BOOK HERE!!

I have seen this ONCE before...To page 5, where the credits are, is a professionally placed paste-over of credits-I am assuming the credits beneath this paste over were incorrect, so instead of chucking the book in the bin, quality control spotted the error and pasted over it.

Brilliantly shiny cover with just 1 line of spidering to the front, with the cover also being around 2mm out of line with the pages bizarrely...please see the detailed images for yourselves.

NO LOOSE PAGES.

Sharp corners.

NO WRITING

Gloriously glossy pictures with all their original color.

ALL ORIGINAL AND COMPLETE

SUPERB TO FIND THIS BOOK IN THIS CONDITION AFTER ALL OF THESE YEARS-MOST HAVE LOOSE PAGES-BUT THIS DOES NOT :)

OVERALL:

An ORIGINAL, COMPLETE & RARE BOX SET from THE BEATLES.

NO REPRODUCTION PARTS

NO LOOSE PAGES IN THE BOOK

COMPLETE WITH VERY RARE PASTE-OVER CREDITS TO THE BOOK

Certainly one for the serious collector.

SOUNDS SUPERB TOO!
