SLEEVE GRADING: VG- (has some wear; see pics.... the previous owner laminated the cover. It has some spine splitting and there's tape around the edges (inside the lamination)).

Cadaver – In Pains
Released in 1992, In Pains is the second full-length album by Norwegian death metal pioneers Cadaver. Following their raw and ferocious debut Hallucinating Anxiety (1990), this album showcases a more refined yet still aggressive approach, incorporating elements of technical death metal and early grindcore influences.
Unlike many Scandinavian death metal bands of the era that leaned heavily into the Sunlight Studios-style buzzsaw guitar tone, Cadaver maintained a distinct and chaotic edge, with sharp, jagged riffing and a more varied songwriting approach. In Pains is characterized by its unpredictable tempo changes, eerie melodic passages, and an unrelenting sense of urgency. The album’s production, handled by the legendary Monte Conner and Colin Richardson, gives the record a cleaner but still viciously sharp sound compared to its predecessor.
Dirk Draeger's abrasive yet precise guitar work, combined with Anders Odden's (aka Neddo) punishing bass and vocals, creates a relentless sonic assault. Tracks like "Runaway Brain" and "Bypassed" balance technicality with sheer brutality, while the album as a whole solidifies Cadaver's place as one of the most innovative death metal acts to emerge from Norway.
Though it never reached the mainstream recognition of other death metal bands of the time, In Pains remains an essential listen for fans of unorthodox and savage death metal.
