Description

For auction is an original copy of Cliff Jordan and John Gilmore's sublime 1957 LP Blowing in from Chicago, Blue Note BLP 1549. This is the very rare 1st pressing, with both deep groove labels featuring the NY 23 address and with RVG initials and Plastylite "Ear" etched in the deadwax. Vinyl was cleaned twice using Klaudio ultrasonic machine. 


Vinyl: VG-. This is not a mint copy by any means but a very solid VG- leaning toward VG in most spots. The vinyl has visual multiple marks and a light layer of crackle underneath the music. But this NEVER overshadows the performances nor the production. Vinyl was cleaned twice using Klaudio ultrasonic machine. There is one small skip on B1; otherwise the LP plays all the way through without problems. See photos for details.


Sleeve: G+. Also not a mint sleeve but except for some rips and missing bite on the front it holds together. Nice original laminated gloss on front and back is clean but for some aging. Seam split @ 4" on top and all along spine but bottom and top sides still intact. See photos for details.


LP will come in protective Mobile Fidelity archive-quality sleeve. Cover will come in thick vinyl protective sleeve. Packed expertly by professional shipping company and mailed via USPS, with tracking number provided, within a day of receipt of payment.
