VG+ mono first pressing of the Walter Bishop Jr Trio’s superb 1961 LP Speak Low on the original Jazztime label, catalogue JT-002. Beautiful cobalt blue deep groove labels. One of the holy grails of late 20th century jazz, it has become nearly impossible to find in any condition.
$650 OBO.
Vinyl: VG+ overall. Shiny and clean with cobalt blue deep groove labels in great condition. Some scratches on both sides but these are cosmetic and have no effect on play. First track on Side B has some light repetitive clicks, but otherwise smooth sailing without any other distractions. Record could probably use a deep cleaning to bring it up to VG++. In any case, Bell Sound production is gigantic and room-filling; and if you have a mono cartridge it is sublime. See photos for details.
Sleeve: low VG- overall. Although there is significant water damage to bottom part of sleeve including some tape, the rest is low VG-with elegant cover art predominating. [Sleeve has been placed in internal protective sleeve to prevent further damage, but can be removed easily for inspection, making repairs etc.] The spine is clear and all words legible. Previous owner’s handwriting (in French) in lower right hand corner. See photos for details.
LP will come in protective Mobile Fidelity archive-quality sleeve. Cover will come in thick vinyl protective sleeve.
