Description
The peerless Vienna Octet made some great recordings in the 1950s and 1960s and this disc of the Schubert Octet is among their very finest (the other being the Mendelssohn). Hear how it was meant to be played this beautiful disc.
Record details: Decca SXL 2028. Stereo. Wide band grooved label, 1st pressing.
Date of issue: 1958.
Condition of disc: This is one of the very best discs I have ever put up for auction. The record is in beautiful glossy condition and plays perfectly.
Condition of sleeve: The sleeve - which has the text in a blue border on the back, see photo - is also glossy and again in excellent, near mint condition.The inner sleeve is also in near mint condition (I always hesitate to use the term 'mint' but this is pretty close to it). The sleeve notes are uncredited.
