Description

This auction is for an Imperial label 45 rpm of Dave Bartholomew's rendition of "Texas Hop" 45IM-621/"When The Saints Go Marching In Boogie" 45IM-688. Dave Bartholomew began working with Imperial in 1940 as an arranger, bandleader and talent scout. He is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He is very well known for his partnership with another New Orleanian, Antoine "Fats" Domino, and the two eventually generated sales in excess of several hundred million dollars, receiving recognition from the Guinness Book of World Records for a world record in recording sales. Many artists have recorded his songs, but he still occasionally will pick up his trumpet to play one himself. Bid now on this classic recording.
