VINNIE BURKE jazz LP ABC 139 AL COHN EDDIE COSTA DG NM!

Artist:  VINNIE BURKE all-stars

Title:   “The VINNIE BURKE ALL-STARS:  featuring Urbie Green, Al Cohn, Jimmy Raney, Eddie Costa, Joe Puma, Joe Morello”

Label:   VERVE.  Label is flat black with David Stone Martin “trumpet player” logo.  Monaural pressing on medium thick vinyl, with deep groove.  Catalog number is V-8319.

Year:  1956.

Personnel:    Al Cohn – tenor sax;  Urbie Green – trombone;  Jimmy Raney and Joe Puma – guitar;  Eddie Costa – piano;  Vinnie Burke – bass;  Joe Morello or Jimmy Campbell – drums.

Note:  This album comes from an extremely well cared-for jazz collection where the original owner cherished his albums, played them once or twice at most, and stored them under optimal conditions.  This presents some excellent opportunities for the discriminating collector who insists on top condition.

Condition:

DISC:  Vinyl is gorgeous NEAR MINT, has been played a very small number of times, most likely once or twice, and handled with care.  Plays flawlessly with superb fidelity.  Labels are clean and pristine.

JACKET:   Jacket is VG++ with nice bright artwork.   Seams, spine, and surfaces are excellent except for chipping in two small places, one near the top of spine and the other on top seam.  Top right corner is bumped.  No writing, stickers, or cutout indications, except for small “promotional” notice stamped info on reverse.  Overall a very fine jacket.
