Vintage 1960's/70's Japan made Seibu Commodore Micro record player.This auction is for the unit only.As to condition.First the cosmetics.The cover though solid has wear to the silver letters and trim.The case is in good shape overall with some scuffs and scratches.Where the back cover goes on,small chip in the plastic on a corner,along with a few thin strips that are gone where it connects to the main body.Very hard to notice that,but wanted to mention it.The player itself.It has a speed knob which has wear on it.Now how does it play records.Depends.Some it will play fair to good,others not at all.The rubber wheel that turns the record does not handle all 45's the same.I took a stack and played them to see whats what.The thicker 45s played better due to more weight bearing on the wheel and some of the thinner lighter 45's once you put the arm on makes it go slow to a stop,which leads me that the rubber should be reconditioned,but I will leave that to who buys it.The battery papers will need to be re glued.Also missing I gather is a piece of foam between the C batteries which holds them up.As it sits now,it will lose power if the batteries droop.A piece of foam or the like should correct that.The 9 volt which powers the amp plugs in well.Amp is good volume.The needle looks ok,but this unit has been played and a new one might be in order.Strap is on tight.This takes two C batteries and a 9 volt which are NOT included.I made a mp3 recording of different 45s from it so you can see how it performs.On a few I played with the speed knob to show how that works.Fidelity is about transistor radio quality.Some records that did play ok,had drag in spots.All depends on how the wheel grabs it.The 45 adapter that came with it is missing. The red vinyl Relic oldies re issue is being included as a throw in as it makes a nice record to display it with.Measures approx 5 long by 4.5 wide x 1.5 high.
