The band was formed in the late 1960s in London, England. By the time of recording, original vocalist Jo Meek had been replaced by her sister Anna Meek. Alongside saxophonist Robert Calvert, the lineup was completed by drummer Malcolm Frith, bassist Dave Taylor, guitarist Graham Wilson and horn players Hugh Eaglestone and Thierry Rheinardt winds. The band was discovered and signed by Patrick Meehan, manager of Black Sabbath. Meehan produced their first, eponymous album, released on Vertigo Records in 1971. They toured following this release and, following the replacement of Eaglestone, Frith and Rheinardt by Bryan Hanson (drums), Ralph Rolinson (keyboards) and Carl Wassard (bass), they recorded their second album, Changes, released in 1972 on Vertigo. The group disbanded shortly after.Calvert went on to play in Gong off-shoots, The Invisible Opera Company Of Tibet and Mother Gong with Daevid Allen and Gilli Smyth. Taylor formed the band Liar with Clive Brooks, ex-drummer with Egg.

You're bidding on an extremely rare 48 year old psychedelic/progressive/jazz/rock/fusion PROMO LP by the band, Catipilla on the Vertigo label. This is their debut release. They only ever released 2 records before disbanding. This a PROMO release. As stated on the record label (pictured). It also includes a 'Hype Sticker' on the front cover as pictured. It is practically impossible to find a PROMO copy of this already incredibly difficult to find release. Gatefold cover displays very well with bright colors and some light edge-wear/shelf-wear/very slight record ring wear/etc.. Actual record looks excellent with nice gloss/shine and only the slightest very light and small surface marks visible. I am not a collector or grading expert of records. I have never heard this record and don't have a way to test it. It is sold as-is. This collector's item is almost half a century old and I cannot guarantee how it will sound. It should not be expected to sound like a new release. Records of this age are not intended to sound like modern 180 gram pressings and  may exhibit normal pops or slight surface noise.

This item is sold as-is. All sales are 100% final. No returns will be accepted. This item ships with USPS Postal Insurance and Tracking included. In the unlikely event of damage or loss during transit you will be able to file a claim with USPS directly to recover your investment. Once again, there are no refunds available through us. That's what the postal insurance is for.
Thanks and good luck.
