WOW, WHAT AN AWESOME ADDITION THIS ULTRA RARE LP WILL MAKE TO ONE'S COLLECTION OF VINTAGE POP OR COUNTRY VINYL ! 
This is the first edition 1959 original pressing of the MGM Stereo LP entitled " Joni James Sings Songs of Hank Williams (E3739). According to the liner notes on the back cover Hank asked MGM officials if he could write a ballad for Joni who was an MGM stable mate at the time. The liner notes add that the ballad was "Your Cheatin' Heart" and the plan was for Hank to record a version for the country people and Joni record a version for the "pop" field. Joni happened to be in the recording studio  rehearsing the song when she learned of Hank's passing on New Year's Day in 1953. Deeply moved Joni decided to complete her recording session of the song. Her emotion-laden singing of the song was in the form of homage and its moving quality helped make it one of her most popular recordings, a "golden record" which sold nearly two million copies throughout the world.
The condition of the original MGM yellow label vinyl is Near Mint (NM) under Goldmine standards. The outer jacket cover features an awesome color close-up by photographer Richard Week. This cover would be an outstanding jacket cover to frame if one is so inclined.The side seams are crisp and completely legible. Some minor softening at the corners with the upper right corner showing a 1/4" split. Some past collector's sticker and residue form removal of another and a penned date (3-7-59) are noted on the back cover. We rate this jacket overall as a solid VG+ condition. In addition to the clean but opened poly vinyl original inner sleeve, a new white generic inner sleeve is provided PLUS a new quality poly slip-on outer sleeve are included to help preserve this gem for generations to come! 
For reference purposes only, it is noted that the 2009 Goldmine Price Guide this LP album when in overall Near Mint condition is listed at $120.

The vinyl within the inner sleeve will be separated during shipment to help guard against seam damage to the outer jacket.
