Description
Bought off eBay previously. Missing the top box cover. Only have the bottom box, as seen in the pics, plus the album cover which is in nice condition, very little wear.
The vinyl listens well, though it's been a while since I listened to it. I only spun it on my audiophile system, and there I would hear some snap crackle and pops here and there (via Wilson Audio X1s), though it has been months and I cannot recall where on the album. I have moved since, and I no longer have my home studio. It is NOT perfect condition, but most of the songs are in very serviceable condition.
Therefore I am putting a low reserve on it. I tried to take high res photos so you can see for yourself. The scratches I can see via the naked eye, which are hard to capture with even my 40Mpx camera, don't seem problematic at all, but I do recall that both of my Crime of the Century UHQR vinyls have a scratch pop here and there. It's not covering all of any of the songs, just maybe a good 3-5 revolutions.
I have kept this vinyl meticulously cleaned with a vacuum washer to minimize dust crackle during playback. Vinyl was stored on it's side in a temperature and humidity controlled studio environment. Only played on my audiophile turntable and cartridge.
If you like this Supertramp album, you will be blown away by the mix and engineering quality of this recording. The voices and piano particularly leap out at you like they are right there. There is no better proof that excellent vinyl is superior to SACD or other high resolution digital formats. You should have true audiophile speakers, tube pre-amp and good cartridge and phono pre-amp for this purchase to make the most impact on your ears. If you have access to audiophile equipment, then it's worth the money.
Let me know if you have any questions.
