Up for auction is a very nice first pressing of the self-titled Violent Femmes debut album, originally released in the U.S. on Slash Records (1-23845) in 1983.
-Guaranteed first pressing, not recent reissue -Original black & white Slash labels
-Original insert/inner sleeve w/ lyrics -Red-letter Slash labels -Vinyl comes in audiophile poly inner sleeve
Note: Original pressings of this album have these rare black & white Slash labels with pink titles, not the more common gray labels with red lettering on subsequent pressings. Very hard to find these originals in nice condition.
Condition: Cover is beautiful with no significant signs of wear or age. Front is very clean, no ring wear. Back is nice, clean. Just a hint of light rub to a couple of corners, which are sharp. Very attractive and nicely preserved original. Grade: Excellent (EX)
Vinyl looks very nice, still retains its original shine. No apparent scratches, just some faint, superficial shadows from taking the vinyl out of inner sleeve a couple times, and certainly nothing that should affect the quality of the sound, which is excellent. Labels are clean, unmarked. Looks like it's been played only once or twice previously, but handled with care.
