Label:   COBBLESTONE RECORDS.  Label features cobblestones with purple logo and black text.  Catalog number is CB 703.

Year:  1968

Background:   Blackpool Mecca and Global Torch anthem from back in the day, newly featured on compilation 5-disc CD box entitled “Northern Soul’s 200 Greatest Floorfillers.”  One of several collaborative efforts of Van McCoy and Sandi Sheldon, whose real name is Kendra Spotswood. 

Condition:   Condition is nice VG to VG+ with nearly 100% of the original gloss remaining.  Has been played a relatively small number of times.  There are scuffs and a couple hairline marks that produce some audible tics, but the fidelity is quite strong and the overall listening experience is enjoyable as you can hear in the accompanying sound clips.   Labels are clean except for small drill hole indicating the record was originally sold as a cutout and a stain where it appears a small sticker or piece of masking tape was previously affixed.  Overall a very decent copy of this scarce gem, will sound great on the dance floor.
