Vorkriegsphase - Scheiss Krieg EP (Rock-O-Rama, 1983)
There aren't enough superlatives to describe how brutal, punishing, blown out and just plain AMAZING this EP is. One of the main inspirations for Japan's GLOOM (and hence, the entire Japanese crust scene!), Germany's Vorkriegsphase played extremely distorted and aggressive hardcore that was WAY before its time. No tinny and lo-fi sound a la Disorder here - VKP's sound on this EP is loud and burly. You're lucky if any furniture survives this EP's first spin on your turntable. An absolute MUST HAVE record for any fan of raw punk music.
