ITEM DESCRIPTION:
This superb and and rare LP from Supraphon (LPM 457, Czech pressing, blue/gold label, mono) pairs two brilliant baroque violin performances from the early Supraphon catalog.
Note: This particular copy has only a plain Supraphon sleeve and not the original more colorful art sleeve.
The exact contents are as follows:
Side 1 – violinist Vaclav Vacek plays
Giuseppe Tartini’s Sonata for Violin & Continuo in G minor B. g10 Op. 1/10 "Didone abbandonata"
(rec. with pianist Frantisek Skvor)
Side 2 – violinist Nelli Shkolnikovova plays
Tommaso Antonio Vitali’s Chaconne for Violin and Piano in G minor (arr. L. Charlie)
(rec. with pianist Ljuba Jedlinova)
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the plain Supraphon jacket is VERY GOOD. There are notations to the front panel, listing the contents, as well as a small bit of writing to the rear panel. There is also slight bumping at corners, and minor edgewear. However, there are no seamsplits or other defects and the album remains perfectly solid and presentation worthy – overall, a very good collector’s copy.
The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. Although the surfaces are not CD silent, in general the playback is superb. However, those wanting a flawless or near-MINT copy are advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this rates as an excellent collector's copy.
