Description
For sale is Van Der Graaf Generator's Pawn Hearts, originally released in 1971 by Charisma Records in the US. It is a second pressing with the Matrix Numbers A-2/B-2, followed by "SON" and "Bell Sound" in the dead wax. These etchings indicate that the record was mastered at Bell Sound Studios of New York City before an early stamper was used to make this record at Sonic Recording Products' pressing plant located in Holbrook, New York. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after my collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. I bought this album used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it in a MFSL inner sleeve. The cover has a small amount of ring wear, a saw-cut on the lower right hand side and some corner blunts. The vinyl is visually graded as Excellent with some faint sleeve marks and surface scratches on Side Two. I'm play grading it as Near Mint Minus because of some low level surface noise between tracks. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
