Van Halen “Van Halen” Vinyl LP/Album 1978 Warner Brothers Records. The ground breaking first album from Van Halen that revitalized the hard rock genre. Every song on this album is a classic from those first thundering bass notes of “Running with The Devil to Ice Cream Man”. The impact of this album on the music world at that time cannot be understated. This album has the written statement on the back cover that it was. “Manufactured by Columbia House Under License”. It is in good to very good condition, especially considering its age and how often I played it years ago. There is some lightwear along all four corners, the top, bottom, spline and the edge of album opening. The color vibrance of the album is as good as when it was new. The only crease I notice on the front cover is in the upper left part of the front cover near the spline. In bright light, you can see some very light wear around the outline of the vinyl on the front and back cover. The only crease I see on the back cover is in the upper right part near the spline.

This album has the original inner sleeve and it also is in good condition; however it has separation on the left hand side and the bottom, where the vinyl has penetrated through the very thin sleeve material. There is also a slit in the inner sleeve on the right hand side. The condition of the vinyl is good, but both sides need a good cleaning with a DiscWasher system to remove fingerprints and blemishes. Also, there are some light scratches on both sides.Although it has been close to 30 years, since I last played this record, I don’t remember any skipping or audio issues. However, I am not making any guarantees, as I no longer have a turntable to test the playback of the album.
