Hi. Welcome to the auction. My records will be graded according to the Record Collector Grading System, as noted below. All my records will be sent to you in specialist vinyl mailers with stiffeners and fragile stickers. This is reflected in the postage charges. I hope this will give my records the best chance of arriving with you safely.

This is the original 1968 UK first press (A1/B2) release of the now hard to find classic Astral Weeks. This is not a mint/excellent example.

RECORD - VG/VG Play tested using my mid-range Thorens TD160 (very 70's I know). Plays through both sides with no skips/jumps. The odd crackle and pop with occasional surface noise on quieter parts of the set. There are a few light scratches on both sides which sometimes produce a quiet click.

LABELS - VG/VG Side one has a small doodle (see photo). Side 2 is clean. Original 1st press dark orange WB labels. Some spindle marks.

SLEEVE - VG Original Garrod & Lofthouse tri-flip back front laminated sleeve. Spine intact and all text visible. No splits/tears. Front has a small amount of creasing to the laminate. Reverse has discolouration from storage (see photo)

MATRIX NO - WS 1768  A1 / B2 First pressing.

CAT NO - WS 1768 Warner Bros Records 1968

RECORD COLLECTOR Grading System.

Grading System: In order to assist everyone who buys and sells rare discs, Record Collector magazine has originated a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
