Trojan Records' acclaimed anthology is given a 50th anniversary makeover, with a triple 180g audiophile vinyl reissue, safely housed in a 50 page hardback book. Features such reggae and ska legends as Desmond Dekker, Jimmy Cliff, The Ethiopians, Dandy Livingstone, The Maytals, and recently sadly departed Lee 'Scratch' Perry.
Postage All records come shipped in a reinforced cardboard record mailer. All shipping is at UK Royal Mail rates. Larger items, such as boxsets, may be shipped using Parcelforce (or other courier service) due to Royal Mail weight restrictions. All shipping prices include insurance for the full value of the item. The Trojan Story was the first ‘various artists’ compilation of Jamaican music; a comprehensive anthology of the island’s musical development, featuring vintage ska, rock steady and reggae music.
The collection was the idea of Trojan’s label manager Rob Bell who, with the help of Dandy Livingstone, Webster Shrowder and Joe Sinclair, produced the three-disc set.
50 years on, The Trojan Story is reissued as a 3LP vinyl edition and comes with a 50-page booklet with stories behind the songs from the likes of The Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Alton Ellis, Duke Reid, Desmond Dekker, The Ethiopians, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry and many more.
