Description
The yellow peel-off banana is fully intact on this excellent gatefold cover copy of the 1967 LP “Velvet Underground And Nico” (Verve V6-5008, stereo) produced by Andy Warhol.
The banana on the front cover has been peeled back about 1/3 and then returned to its original position leaving a fully intact banana with just a couple of very small wrinkles in the peeled portion. I’ve included a close-up picture of the portion that has been peeled. The 2/3 unpeeled portion is near mint.
The back cover has the picture of Lou Reed above the photo of the group.
The glossy LP looks and plays great with just a few light sleeve scuffs and superficial scratches that play with just some light occasional surface noise. The cover is in overall excellent condition with some light wear and a small split (2 1/2”) on the top back portion of the gatefold, none of which detracts from the graphics or liner notes. Included is the original Verve inner sleeve.
