Original 1967 Verve MONO LP V-5008,
This is their incredible legendary FIRST ALBUM.
It's also known as the “BANANA COVER”.
WITH THE "TORSO" of Eric Emerson visible on the back cover
ORIGINAL U.S. PRESSING.
Beautiful gatefold.
The album has the infamous Andy Warhol Banana with the peel-able 'skin' sticker on the front cover that is complete, intact, not pulled at or re-stuck/not stuck back on.
The Cover and Album are authentic original First Pressings.
The cover is the original thick style US manufactured cardboard.
The LP is heavy thick vinyl. It's not a re-issue, not a boot, not an import, not a record club version, not a counterfeit.
Blue label with silver 'T'.
Deep-Groove with 1.25 ring.

The original Verve blue label has the large T-Shape logo with silver color print. Beautiful. The label has no spindle marks on Side One with barely-there visible spindle lines on Side Two.
Yes, the music is breathtaking, and so is the classic Warhol cover artwork: It's a mind expander with the Banana skin over the pink Banana. A great work of art from Warhol, a Pop icon where what you see is meant to be seen. Double entendre purposely presented.
I've spoken to Lou Reed when they played the Boston Tea Party, virtually a house band at that time, as well as speaking to him at a radio station where he was doing an interview, and he was quite happy with the record. As a side note, he always had a 'trip book' with him, constantly making notes and drawings about his experiences on the road. Hopefully one day, they'll be published.
When they played the Tea Party in the early days, they played their set straight ahead, full throttle driving the groove, propelling the lyrics deep into your mind, standing still, inside the cocoon of the swirling music. Backstage, they were always easy to get along with, nice to everyone, and open for conversation.
Over time, it has gone on to be a pillar of music, a cornerstone of raw energy.
It seems Mono pressings are more desirable by far than the stereo mixes,

All Records are viewed under bright light, as well as a cautious extensive audio check.
PLAY GRADED CONDITION:
** The record is one of those records that sometimes is a bit difficult to grade, especially when you are doing an audio check.
The LP looks in-between Excellent to Excellent or better (+) Condition,
THE RECORD PLAYS in Very Good or better (+) to Excellent Condition,
The vinyl looks fantastic without any major visual flaws and with slight imperfections.
No deep nor finger-feel scratches. The biggest imperfection is a light surface needle scratch on Cut 1 Side 2 and just into the 2nd cut that does not distract from the play but at the beginning is a bit secondarily noisy. There are also paper lines/marks, and secondary under and in the music sounds that are sparse and scattered.
Beautiful bright clean shiny vinyl, The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. The sound on thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and driving.
The slight flaws mentioned are quite minor as compared to the overall sound of this great album.
These days most records all over the internet are sold without listening or without audio testing them.You don't know what it may sound like, even when it may look perfect. That's OK. It's not easy to listen to all the records and then come up with a subjective grading for a rare "As Is" / "Collectible" that's sold for its rarity.
**** The cover is in Very Good or better (+) Condition with the historic patina of light wear from age.
* Amazing white color on the front and back cover as well as in the centerfold.
*No split seams.
*The banana has not been peeled, no niks, no tears, no marks on the Warhol banana.
*The front cover has some light wear at the top and bottom and quite small marks at the opening edge with a very small bump at the upper very tip opening corner.
*The back cover has partial ring-wear at the top and bottom as well as at both side edges.
*The spine is in beautiful condition with just a couple of flea sized dings/niks at the back edge.
*The top and bottom edges have no dings, no tears, no frays, virtually wear free.
* The centerfold is beautifully white. There are a just a very few flea sized yellow spots on the right centerfold along the very top.
* No bar codes.
* No RIAA.
*No handwriting.
* No water stains.
* The original inner Verve paper sleeve is in Near Mint Condition, no split seams.
* The Side One label is in Near Mint Condition without spindle marks. Side 2 has few lines.
Grading Parameters:
SEALED: Mint / Near Mint / Excellent or better (+) / Excellent / Very Good or better (+) / Very Good / Good / Fair.
