This listing is for the album cover to The Velvet Underground & Nico on Verve Records. This is one of the versions that had the banana peel that peeled off but the actual peel is gone. I believe this cover was for the MONO version of the album because on the back of the cover in the lower left hand corner it says " V-5008" which is the mono catalog number, BUT on the back cover in the upper right hand corner there is an small oval sticker that says "STEREO". Perhaps they used some mono covers to house stereo copies of the album and just put the "STEREO" stickers on the covers? Who knows?

CONDITION: I would grade this album cover as good to fair. There is writing on the front cover, back cover and gatefold. There is a seam split at the top of the front cover and there is tape along the top and bottom of the back cover though it's not that noticeable. There is damage along spine and there is general wear over the entire cover. That all being said, and considering the rarity of the album cover, it would still make a nice addition to a collector's or VU fan's collection and could of course be paired up with the LP that originally came with this cover, which is no place near as rare as the cover itself.
