Verdi Falstaff Gobbi Karajan UK Columbia SAX 2254-2256 Magic Notes 3 LPs
Tito Gobbi, Luigi Alva, Ronaldo Panerai, Elizabeth Schwarzkopf and an all star cast with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Herbert von Karajan perform “Falstaff” by Verdi. A three record set, this is an English stereo pressing on the Columbia Label (SAXS 2254 – SAX 2256). The labels are blue/green with silver border and “radio waves” and magic note logo. Apart from a few dust marks, the records are of excellent appearance and play and sound superb with a minimum of surface noise. The box laminate has rubbed a little on the top, and is otherwise ein excellent condition. It comes with the original booklet, libretto, inner bags and cardboard and tissue paper inserts.
