Verdi Il Trovatore Tebaldi Erede UK Decca SXL 2139/31

 

Mario Del Monaco, RenataTebaldi, Giuletta Siomionata and others with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the L’Orchestre du Grand Theatre de Geneve conducted by Alberto Erede perform Verdi’s “Il Trovatore”. A three record set, this is an English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 2129-30-31), the labels are black with silver lettering, a full frequency stereo sound fatband and logo, original Recording by… at 10 o’clock, and a groove.  Apart from a couple of tiny scuffs, the records are of excellent appearance, and play and sound superb with a minimum of surface noise. The box is of immaculate appearance as are the notes (no libretto in these first editions).
