Description
Thank you for looking, this is one record from my collection of over 300 recordings, I started to build this collection over 35 years ago, my older sister used to go to the Torch in Tunstall S-O-T and collected a few decent recordings so when she gave them to me in the mid 70’s I continued collecting mostly Northern Soul, and almost all being purchased at Wigan Casino until it closed.
I joined the Navy and left my collection in my brother’s care, he added to it going to the occasional revival venue, I didn’t think much about it for years as I was now living in the USA and about as far away from Northern Soul as you could get. I returned to the UK a couple of years ago to help move my Mum from the house to an apartment, during the house emptying I found my beloved record collection stored away in the loft, I didn’t even have time to open the box and look at what was left, I simply took the box along with several other items I wanted to keep and placed them all in a storage unit.
Two years later I returned and retrieved my collection and brought it back to the USA with me. It was thrilling going through the box and reminiscing about when and where each record was purchased, where I first heard them and what was going on in my life at that time. I have enjoyed listening to each and every one and have made an archive. As my daughter has absolutely no interest in the music or the collection I have decided to sell it so that old and new collectors can add it and enjoy it for many more years.
