Record Collector Magazine Grading System MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
graded VG++/VG++ for a strict Record Collector magazine grading system
label: The original German Polydor label does have just a couple of spindle marks so EX-.
cover: The cover it's beautifully full laminated and look nice with just the left bottom corner slightly bent and the opposite with a slight crease so VG++.
vinyl: The vinyl look VG++ because a couple of light scuffs and it plays very very well.
review: this review it's taken from the selling advert of the only other copy I ever seen of this lp "From 1965, out of Denmark, comes Rich St. John with his LP Thru' His Eyes on Polydor 623034 Germany. Original German press of this twelve track album of folk rock. Rich St. John was born in London and is English. His influences include Woody Guthrie, Jack Elliot, Doc Watson, Martin Carthy and Cy,Mala & Robert. He also likes Bob Dylan, Bert Jansch, and Davy Graham, along with Sibelius and Bartok. He went to Copenhagen in 1965 and quickly made his mark in the Danish folk scene! Backing musicians include Cy Nicklin of the aforementioned Cy,Mala & Robert. Songs are sung in English. An extremely rare album and the only one of his first LP that I've ever seen personally in 32 plus years! The LP was never pressed in Denmark, as most albums of that time were pressed in Germany, as Denmark did not have the facilities to press the records"....don't miss!
